Typing Effect module

Divi Typing Effect writes your headline live.

Typing Effect for Divi 5. A typewriter that types, deletes and loops through your phrases, starting when it scrolls into view.

We build

What is the Divi Typing Effect module?

Typing Effect is a Divi 5 module in Divi Supreme Pro that types a list of phrases into a headline, one character at a time, like a typewriter. Use it for hero headlines, the services you offer, the audiences you serve, short code snippets and personal intros.

Add the phrases to Typing Effect Text and the fixed words to Before Text and After Text, each optionally on a new line. Set the Typing Speed, Typing Backspeed and Back delay, loop forever or stop after the last phrase, shuffle the order, fade out instead of deleting and pick your own cursor character. It starts when the heading is in view and can repeat every time it comes back.

Questions about Typing Effect.

How do I add a typewriter effect to a Divi heading?

Add the Typing Effect module, type the fixed words in Before Text and add each phrase to Typing Effect Text. The phrases are typed one after another, and the list loops by default.

How do I change the typing speed?

Set Typing Speed (in ms), 100ms per character by default. Typing Backspeed (in ms) sets the deleting speed (50ms by default), and Back delay (in ms) sets the pause before deleting (700ms by default).

Can it type once and stop?

Yes. Turn off Use Loop and the last phrase stays on screen. Then turn on Remove Cursor After Completed to hide the cursor at the end.

Can the phrases appear in a random order?

Yes. Turn on Use Shuffle and the order changes each time.

Can the text fade out instead of being deleted?

Yes. Turn on Use Fade Out and each phrase fades away instead of being backspaced.

How do I put the typing on its own line?

Turn on Typing Text On a New line to move it under the Before Text. After Text On a New line does the same for the After Text.

When does the typing start?

When the heading scrolls into view. Animate in Viewport sets how much must be visible (80% by default), and Repeat Animation in Viewport, on by default, starts it again each time it comes back into view.

Can I change the cursor?

Yes. Cursor Character is "|" by default and accepts any character. The cursor colour is in the Design tab.
